MISSING MIDDLE HOUSING in SINGLE FAMILY NEIGHBORHOODS
zoning changes to allow two housing structures on one lot - duplex or two-unit townhouses in all single-family residential zones in Edmonds.
Policy Two:
EQUITY HOUSING INCENTIVES
Allows for construction of zero-lot line duplexes, triplexes, and quadruplexes, including track townhouses up to 2-story height in single-family neighborhoods.

MEDIUM-DENSITY SINGLE FAMILY HOUSING (SR-MD)

Housing Issues for Edmonds
Homeowners and residents of Edmonds face serious threats to the livability of their neighborhoods from many of the stealth "Housing Commission Policies" the City is promoting. These include amending the type, ownership, parking and density requirements for “Accessory Dwelling Units” as a stealth means of upzoning single-family neighborhoods to 2 houses per lot; misrepresenting that so-called new construction of “missing middle” housing would aid in addressing the housing affordability crisis, and eliminating the zoning protections of single-family neighborhoods without any desire for adequate public involvement in the process.

Edmonds is a place and a feeling - a small town where you often run into people who know you by name; strike up a conversation with a stranger who then becomes your friend; a neighborly community and a place of natural beauty and environmental significance along the Puget Sound. It is absolutely deserving of the attention and care of its current citizens to continue to cherish this unique town. It is like no other similar town left. As I tell people, it is for what Edmonds currently is, not for what it isn't or should be, why people stay here once they moved here, why new people and families continue to desire to move in, and why others love to come to visit.
