Let's Ensure Full Public Access to Edmonds City Council Meetings

In July 2021, The City Council agreed to return to 'in-person' Council meetings. Then in the Fall, the Council returned to a Zoom-only format stating concerns about the resurgence of COVID19. Even though restaurants, businesses, grocery stores, libraries, and even city departments remained open to the public. It is critical for citizens and residents to have full access to their elected representatives. Zoom meeting formats alone do not accomplish this. ACE will always support state mandated health requirements. However, unless public meetings are prohibited by the state we expect the City of Edmonds to honor in-person Council meetings where citizens can come to listen and comment and not be limited to Zoom only. Please let the Mayor and City Council members that you support in-person meetings and public hearings.

  1. Thank you to the Ace organization for your efforts so far in helping to manage this potential dire situation and for getting the council to return to in-person meeting. It's important for govt to be available to its constituency!
